Next, as a customer, look for the companies who sell the quality of their lights and work instead of the companies who hide behind “trash” talk. There is a small company from Texas who rather than sell the quality (or lack of quality) of their own work can only sell their work by talking trash about everyone else. This company is so threatened by the quality lighting companies they must face and compete with that they are unable to stand on their own work. (This company has also been known to go sneaking around other lighting vendors booths at night after everyone is closed down—like rats in the night—because they cannot honestly face the other vendors.)
As shown by the photos below this company has good reason to feel threatened—the photos show an installation done by them on a brand new H-D UltraClassic. In the photos you can see that they cut into the factory wiring harness of this brand new bike—thereby voiding all factory warranty on this bike and potentially costing the customer thousands of dollars in wiring repairs. Yet when the customer called them directly to find out how to get this fixed the company refused to answer any phone calls after they found out what the problem was.
Yet, this company sells their incompetent work by telling you, the customer, that all of the other lighting companies work is bad.
We all know that HAWGS like rolling around in the slop, but trash selling trash is not who you would want working on your bike!
Furthermore, almost all lighting companies have removed lights that have been installed by other lighting companies. This is usually done at the request of the customer. The reasons for removing the lights are varied, ranging from the customer wants a different color or the lights are not as bright as the customer had thought they would be, lights are broken or wiring has been cut to do other work on the bike, or a poor wiring job was done and the lights are not working.
Lastly, we all hope you choose to light up your ride for both the pleasure of the lights and for safety. When choosing your lighting installer remember to choose a quality company who is proud of the work that they do, and who does not need to roll around in the gutter to convince you they are the best.
